The friendship between Austin Butler and Kaia Gerber came up in late 2021, and the two have only grown closer since then.
After being sighted together during a yoga class in December 2021, Butler and Gerber initially aroused romance speculations. The couple was dating at the time, as an insider exclusively told Us Weekly, adding, “It’s still very new.”
The pair accomplished a significant milestone five months later when they made their red carpet debut at the 2022 Met Gala. Butler chose an all-black Prada suit for the formal occasion, while Gerber embraced the Gilded Age motif with a glittering Alexander McQueen gown.
The next year, Butler and Gerber were reportedly quite “secure” in their relationship, and Butler’s well-known parents, Rande Gerber and Cindy Crawford, were on board with the duo, according to an additional insider who spoke with Us exclusively.
