Shares of IndusInd, UltraTech, Grasim, Trent and Dr Reddy’s Laboratories traded among top gainers of the Nifty 50 pack intraday, while Hindustan Unilever, M&M, Bharti Airtel, ICICI Bank and ONGC declined.
The broader indices continued to trade lower. Sensex depreciated 305.50 pts or 0.38 per cent to 79,810.99 as at 12.30 pm, and Nifty 50 declined 73.20 pts or 0.30 per cent to 24,255.75.
Realty sector faced the maximum sell-off pressure, while pharma stocks gained momentum. Nifty midcap and smallcap indices continued to trade flat. Volatility index rose close to 3 per cent to 16.40.
A total of 2,749 stocks were traded on the National Stock Exchange, of which 1,582 advanced and 1,086 declined.
Godfrey Phillips and Senco Gold were among the 92 stocks that hit upper circuit.
Bajaj Finance, Bajaj Finserv, BSE, Laurus Labs, Divi’s Lab and more hit 52-week high.
Meanwhile, Gensol Engineering continued their southward journey on Thursday, tumbling 5 per cent to hit another lower circuit level at ₹94.91, amid the ongoing crisis at the firm
Tata Elxsi, Hindustan Zinc, Persistent Systems, Paytm and AU Small Finance gained 2-3 per cent among midcap, while Waaree Energies, Bharat Forge and Biocon depreciated 2-5 per cent.
IndusInd Bank lead the gainers of Nifty 50 with 4.96 per cent increase to ₹833.60. UltraTech followed with 1.43 per cent gain to ₹12,120. Grasim and Trent also gained over 1 per cent, while pharma stocks Dr Reddy’s and Cipla showed marginal gains.
On the flip side, HUL shares fell 3.79 per cent to ₹2,311.90 post Q4 results. M&M and Bharti Airtel also declined close to 2 per cent. ICICI Bank depreciated 1.28 per cent.
HUL posted a 3.67 per cent decrease in consolidated net profit to ₹2,464 crore in the quarter ended March 31, 2025.
Nestle India erased early gains to trade flat at ₹2,431 as its Q4 profit down 6.5 per cent to ₹873.46 crore.
On the BSE, shares of KIOCL, Sonata, MMTC, Morepen and Newgen Software rallied 12-15 per cent.
