
Jio’s subscriber base grew by 1.3 per cent and ARPU grew 13.5 per cent, to over ₹206.

Reliance Jio Infocomm reported a 25.7 per cent year-on-year rise in profit growth in Q4FY25, while revenue rose 17.8 per cent driven by tariff increase for mobility services, improving subscriber mix due to scale up of home connects and growth in digital services.
Its EBITDA grew to ₹17,016 crore, a quarterly growth of 2.5 per cent and an 18.5 per cent yearly growth on account of higher revenue and margin improvement.
On-year basis, subscriber base grew by 1.3 per cent and ARPU grew 13.5 per cent, to over ₹206. On a sequential basis, net profit rose 2.3 per cent to ₹7,022 crore in the quarter on a 2.8 per cent growth in gross revenue.
85% watch sports
JioStar subscribers were recorded at around 280 million subscribers, with 503 million users visiting on a monthly basis. The platform reported a 34 per cent TV market share and more than 85 per cent share of sports viewing. In terms of financials, the platform recorded a revenue from operations of ₹9,497 crore and an EBITDA of ₹266 crore, from November 14, 2024 to March 31, 2025. It also claimed higher sports ad revenue led by ICC Champions Trophy and growth in the Indian Premier League (IPL) Season 18 compared to the previous season.
Regarding Rjio’s performance, Mukesh D Ambani, RIL Chairman and Managing Director said, “Our digital services business achieved record revenue and profit numbers. Steady increase in subscriber base, with an improving mix and increasing user engagement metrics boosted earnings. Strong adoption of our 5G services and our home broadband offerings continues with accelerated addition in subscribers and in the number of home-connects. Jio continues to invest in innovation, focusing on AI capabilities and next generation technologies, which will shape India’s digital future.”
The total subscriber base was at 488.2 million with flat sequential growth while Average Revenue Per User (ARPU) increased to ₹206.2 per subscriber, a 1.4 per cent growth sequentially. The company attributed the ARPU growth to continued impact of the tariff hike and better subscriber mix partly impacted by lower number of days in the quarter. Monthly churn was 1.8 per cent, the lowest in the industry. Net subscriber addition was 6.1 million during the quarter. New additions were driven by the rebound of mobility additions post tariff hike and the steady ramp-up of connected home.
Data traffic
Data traffic hit 48.9 billion GB in Q4, a 5.1 per cent sequential increase and 19.6 per cent on-year growth. Per capita data consumption was 33.6 GB/ month, and total data traffic growth of 19.6 per cent y-o-y. Voice traffic grew 1.49 trillion minutes, a 2.8 per cent quarterly growth and 3.5 per cent on-year growth. 191 million subscribers used Jio’s True5G network. JioAirFiber reported a subscriber base of over 5.6 million.

During the quarter, Jio announced an agreement with SpaceX to offer Starlink’s broadband internet services to its customers in India, subject to SpaceX receiving authorizations. Jio and SpaceX are also evaluating complementary areas of cooperation to leverage their respective infrastructure to enhance India’s digital ecosystem further. At the Mobile World Congress 2025, Jio along with AMD, Cisco, and Nokia announced the plan to build an Open Telecom AI Platform to redefine telecom operations with cutting-edge AI integration. This intelligence framework is aimed at enhancing network security and efficiency, reducing total cost of ownership using Agentic AI, general and domain specific LLMs and SLMs.
