George Mills ran the second time faster for a British in the 1500 men’s meters when he finished third in Diamond League in Paris.
After beating the former British record of 5,000m of Sir Mo Farah in Oslo last week, Mills, 26, improved Farah to go up to the second on the list of all time of the United Kingdom with a time of three minutes 28.36 seconds.
Only Josh Kerr has run the fastest distance for Great Britain, in 3: 27.79 at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.
Azzedine Habz won the race in front of its local crowd by blocking 3: 27.49, a meeting record and a French national record, while Phanuel Kipkosgei Koech of Kenya established a Junior world record in second place in the race of the League No -Diamond.
Amy Hunt Tok of Great Britain in second place in the 200 female meters with a better season 22.45 to end behind the American battle of Anavia, while former world champion Dina Asher-Smith had to settle for sixth place despite a quick start.
Georgia Hunter Bell, aiming at his second victory of the Diamond League season, also ended sixth in the 1500m female when Sarah Healy in Ireland was second with a better personal staff 3: 57.15, behind Nelly Chepchirchir in Kenya.
The Diamond League will move to Eugene and Monaco below before the series visits the United Kingdom for a London Athletics Meeting with entries exhausted on July 19.
The finals will take place in Zurich on August 27 and 28, almost approximately a fortnight before the start of the World Athletics Championship in Tokyo, Japan.
