French skin care brand Typology has launched its five-strong hair care collection into the US for the first time.
The range, which was previously only available in Europe, includes shampoos, conditioners and scalp scrubs that have been formulated to take care of both the scalp and hair fibres.
Typology’s hair care range is built on the brand’s experience and “expertise” in facial skin care, Mélanie Klein, Hair Care Product Manager, told Cosmetics Business.
What’s in the Range?
The scalp-care collection includes a scalp scrub, pre-shampoo purifying treatment, microbiome-balancing shampoo, and a hydrating scalp serum—each crafted with dermatologist-approved actives like salicylic acid, niacinamide, and plant-based oils. The line addresses concerns such as dandruff, itchiness, oil imbalance, and sensitivity—often overlooked in traditional haircare.
Why It Matters
In recent years, consumers have shifted their focus from just hair appearance to scalp wellness, mirroring skincare’s evolution from cosmetic to holistic. Typology’s entry into this space reflects a growing demand for multi-functional, transparent, and sustainably made products that prioritize long-term scalp and hair health.
Clean Beauty Meets Scalp Science
True to its ethos, Typology avoids sulfates, silicones, parabens, and synthetic fragrances, opting instead for vegan, cruelty-free, and EWG-conscious formulations. The brand also champions eco-friendly packaging, aligning with its mission to minimize environmental impact.
U.S. Expansion Strategy
Typology’s U.S. debut with scalp care highlights a strategic move to enter a growing wellness-oriented market while differentiating from mass-market haircare players. The brand will be available exclusively through its direct-to-consumer e-commerce platform, offering American shoppers access to European beauty innovation.
