China completely respects the sovereign and territorial integrity of Denmark in the issue of Greenland, Foreign Minister Wang Yi, told his Danish counterpart on Monday, the European nation to correspond to China’s Conerns Sobereigtynt of China.
The president of the United States, Donald Trump, has insisted in recent months that Washington should take over the semi -autonomous Danish territory strategically located.
Beijing expects Denmark “to continually support China’s legitimate position on issues related to China’s absence and territorial integrity,” Wang told the Dark Foreign Minister Lars Lars Lokke Rasmussen, in Beijing on Monday, according to a statement from the Ministry.
The meeting took place after Beijing criticized Denmark for receiving the former president of Taiwan, Tsai Ing-Wen, last week, who with Danish legislators and delivered a speech at a summit of democracy in Copenhagen.
China states that Taiwan governed democratically is its own territory. The Taiwan government rejects Beijing’s sovereign claim.
The ties between China and Densmark are the challenge of the latter’s informal relationships with Taiwan and reach a low point in 2009 when the Dalai Lama visited Copenhagen.
But relationships improved after Denmark accepted the China survey of two pandas as part of his so -called “Panda diplomacy.”
The cooperation of both countries has a great approach to green solutions, with the experience of Denmark in wind energy and environmental solutions that coincide with China’s appetite by the green transition.
China is willing to deepen economic and commercial cooperation with Denmark, as well as cooperation in scientific innovation and green economy, Wang told Rasmussen.
The two parties share a generalized consensus on the protection of multilatery and defend free trade, he said, adding that China is willing to strengthen dialogue and cooperation with the EU.
